Wie sangen die „257ers“ so schön: „Holland ist die geilste Stadt der Welt“.

Das sie recht hatten, davon konnte man sich am vergangenem Wochenende selbst überzeugen, denn am Sonntag stand wieder der Halbmarathon in Venlo an. Die Stimmung und die Gastfreundschaft der Niederländer kann man nicht mit Worten beschreiben, man muss sie erlebt haben. Die ca. 8000 Läufer beim Halbmarathon wurden förmlich durch die bunt geschmückten Straßen von den zahlreichen Zuschauern unermüdlich beflügelt. Der Kontrast der Strecke hätte nicht größer sein können. Auf „ruhigen“ Wegen entlang der Maas ging es direkt in die stimmungsvollen Straßen, die die Anwohner mit großen Lautsprecher und fetzigen Beats beschallt haben. Den fünf Dinslakener Marathonies hat es sichtlich gefallen, wenn auch das Ziel der einzelnen Sportler unterschiedlich war. Die einen wollten einen schnellen Lauf absolvieren, die anderen einfach nur ankommen oder die Stimmung genießen. Die Ergebnisse sehen wie folgt aus: Andreas Piecha 1:39:22, Axel Beyer 1:49:19, Sebastian Mahlerwein 1:55:23, Anna Reimann 2:17:05 und Jörg Siedenbiedel ebenfalls 2:17:05.
