Der härteste Lauf der Region
Marathon-Ultras Neth und Timmerhaus bestanden Herausforderung mit Bravour

Der Rheinsteig-Extremlauf ist für Ultra-Läufer eine schöne und anspruchsvolle Herausforderung und führt aus dem Rheintal bei Bonn über die Höhen des Siebengebirges hinunter auf die Insel Grafenwerth in Bad Honnef. Im Streckenverlauf geht es auch u.a. auch durch den Naturpark Siebengebirge, überwiegend über Naturpfade und –wege, zu einem geringen Teil über Asphalt. Durch den Dauerregen am Veranstaltungstag hatten der Lauf den Namenszusatz „Extrem“ wirklich verdient. Einige Passagen waren nicht nur schlammig, sondern extrem rutschig. Auf der 34 km langen Strecke waren insgesamt 1.200 Höhenmeter zu bewältigen.

Von Marathon Dinslaken bewältigten die Ultralauf-Spezialisten Thorsten Neth und Robert Timmerhaus diese extremen Bedingungen mit Bravour.

Thorsten Neth finishte in 3:52:29 Std. und kam in seiner Altersklasse M 50 auf den 16. Platz. Robert Timmerhaus überquerte in ausgezeichneten 3:55:28 Std. die Ziellinie und belegte in der AK M 45 Platz 37.
