Barfuß durch den Sand

Am 03.10.2015 fand an der niederländischen Küstenregion Zeeland der 13. Zeeland – Küstenmarathon bei sommerlichen Temperaturen und Sonnenschein statt.
Der Zeeland-Marathon ist der schwerste Marathon Hollands und war für die Läufer von Marathon Dinslaken, Axel und Janin Beyer, der bisher anspruchvollste, aber auch schönste Marathon, den sie bisher absolviert haben. Gestartet wurde mit 2000 anderen Läufern in Burgh-Haamstede. Die Strecke führt über eher unwegsames Gelände wie Deiche, Dünen, durch Sandstrände und kleine Wälder entlang der Küste Zeelands bei einem unvergleichlichen Ausblick. Viele Zuschauer sorgten an der Strecke für gute Stimmung und versorgten die Läufer neben den gängigen Verpflegungspunkten zudem mit reichlich Lakritz und Weingummi. Das sich in Zoutelande befindende Ziel wurde in Anlehnung an die sehr hügelige, sandreiche Strecke in Form eines angeschütteten letzten Sandhügels nachgeahmt, den es unter dem Zielbanner endgültig zu überwinden galt. Axel und Janin Beyer erreichten nach 4:38 Stunden das Ziel.
