Über 1000 Starter bei der 5 x 5000m Staffel

Am Samstag, dem 19.09.2015 fand zum 30. Mal der älteste 5 x 5000m Lauf Deutschlands in Weeze am Niederrhein statt. Auch Marathon Dinslaken stellte zwei Staffeln.

Für die Damen gingen Ricarda Berten (26:49), Manuela Keuten (24:36), Dorota Mudra (26:09), Petra Friese (25:46) und Therese Frychel (25:20) an den Start, die Herrenstaffel setzte sich aus Thomas Holland (20:14), Wolfgang Hildebrandt (24:07), Michael Keuten, Axel Beyer (21:56) und Jörg Sänger (19:29) zusammen.

Hatten Thomas Holland und Ricarda Berten als Startläufer noch mit starkem Regen zu kämpfen, lockerte die Bewölkung aber im Laufe der Veranstaltung auf und nach etwa einer Stunde ließ sich sogar die Sonne blicken.

Für die Damen erreichte Therese Frychel als Schlussläuferin ihrer Staffel nach 2:08:42 das Ziel. Großen Kampf- und Teamgeist bewies Michael Keuten, der trotz einer Verletzung, die er sich bereits nach wenigen Metern zuzog, weiterlief und seine Runde  noch in 25:30 Minuten beenden und seine Mannschaft somit im Rennen halten konnte.  Jörg Sänger sicherte  dann als letzter Läufer nach 1:51:18 seiner Staffel den vierten Platz in der Wertung Herren II.
