In diesem Jahr blieben uns Temperaturen mehr als 30 Grad Celsius glücklicherweise erspart. Trotz des EM-Spiels gehörten viele Marathonis zum Starterfeld des 5-km-Laufs, vom 5-km-Walking oder vom 10-km-Hauptlauf.

Der Drevenacker Volksbank Abendlauf gehört zur Veranstaltung, die wir als Marathon Dinslaken in jedem Jahr in unserem Laufcup gerne aufnehmen. Start- und Zielbereich liegen in unmittelbarer Umgebung der Platzanlage des TUS Drevenack. Die Strecke verläuft - teils schattig - über 5 km durch das Örtchen entlang der Felder und wieder zurück zum Platz. An diesem Freitag gingen trotz des EM-Spiels Deutschland gegen Spanien insgesamt 19 Marathonis in den drei Disziplinen an den Start.
