Trotz der EM-Eröffnungsspiels am Vorabend standen knapp 30 Marathonis in Dinslaken schön früh morgens am Treffpunkt in Hiesfeld, von wo aus der Bus in Richtung Ahrweiler zum Ahrathon abfuhr.

Der Ahrathon - auch als Erlebnismarathon bekannt -  ist eine beliebte Laufveranstaltung, bei der verschiedene Distanzen bis hin zum Marathon gelaufen werden können. Das besondere an dieser Veranstaltung ist, dass die Strecke ab der Halbmarathondistanz durch die Weinberge führt wo die vielen Verpflegungsstände von ansässigen Winzern betreut werden. An vielen ihrer Stände halten sie Getränke, Kuchen, Snacks, Fingerfood und Weinproben für die Läufer bereit, auch für Live-Musik war gesorgt. Der größte Teil der Marathonis entschied sich für den kostümierten Halbmarathon. Klar, dass die wenigsten Läufer hier versuchen, eine Bestzeit zu laufen; nicht zuletzt weil die Strecke mit ihren vielen Höhenmetern auch recht anspruchsvoll ist.

Wir werden nächstes Jahr wieder dabei sein, damit die besondere Sammelmedaille vervollständigt wird.
