Das erste Maiwochenende Stand ganz im Zeichen der Halbmarathons in Wesel Flüren und Duisburg

Für die Läufer und Läuferinnen am Niederrhein beginnt der Monat Mai traditionell mit dem Flürener Halbmarathon, der dieses Jahr zum 47. Mal stattgefunden hat. Auch die Läufer und Läuferinnen von Marathon Dinslaken gehören in guter alter Tradition an die Startlinie über die 5 km Walkingstrecke und den Halbmarathon des Flürener Waldstadions. Zu den Top 5 der 5 km gehörten diesmal Jutta Erlekotte (34:04), Julia Baginski (34:46) und Therese Frychel (40:04). Über den Halbmarathon kamen Dominik Kronier in 01:46:15 und Ralf Hegemann in 02:01:56 ins Ziel.

Nur ein paar Tage später gingen Sebastian Mahlerwein, Dominik Kronier und Ulla Warnecke an den Start des Halbmarathons in Duisburg. Mit über 6000 Teilnehmern aller Kategorien fand die Veranstaltung rund um die Schauinsland Reisen Arena einen großen Zuspruch. Der Lauf musste in diesem Jahr vorgezogen werden, was sich auch bei diesmal kühleren Temperaturen positiv bemerkbar machte. Den Schnitt von unter 5 min. auf den Kilometer hielten Dominik und Sebastian bis ins Ziel durch und ließen den Pacemaker sogar noch hinter sich (Dominik 01:42:31 und Sebastian 01:43:34). Ulla überquerte überglücklich die Ziellinie nach 02:45:18 und war damit 7. ihrer Altersklasse W65.
