An diesem Wochenende fand zum 19. Mal der Lichterlauf rund um die Regattabahn in Duisburg statt.

In mehreren Blöcken starteten die Läufer:innen, auch mit Beteiligung von Marathon Dinslaken, auf die beleuchtete Strecke rund um die Regattabahn in Duisburg. Für die 5 km lange Strecke musste sie einmal umrundet werden, für die 10 km entsprechend zweimal. Der Erlös dient der Finanzierung für die Beleuchtung rund um die Regattabahn. Seit dem Jahr 2003 wurden 180 Lampen installiert. Einige Zuschauer säumten die Strecke, was die Stimmung wieder zu einer gewissen Normalität aufkommen ließ.
