Der 38. Rhein-Ruhr-Marathon konnte coronabedingt leider auch in diesem Jahr nicht real stattfinden - aber mit einer virtuellen Variante #RRM21AtHomeAgain gingen drei Marathonis an den Start.

Bei bedecktem Himmel und angenehmen Temperaturen sind Andreas, Sebastian und unser Neuzugang Marcel früh am Morgen gestartet. Wir hatten uns eine Halbmarathonstrecke mit dem Start in Hiesfeld über Stadtmitte, Emscher und Wohnungwald bis hin zum Rhein nach Eppinghoven ausgesucht. Marcel und Andreas haben diese Strecke zweimal bewältigt. Sebastian hat die beiden die erste Hälfte begleitet, weil er sich für den Halbmarathon angemeldet hatte. Die zweite Hälfte wurde er durch Dominik abgelöst, sodass Andreas und Marcel auf ihrer Marathonstrecke immer gut unterhalten waren. Bis 30 km waren wir gut in der Zeit, dann fingen die Beine an. Jeder, der schon einen Marathon gelaufen ist, kennt das. Trotzdem haben wir auf die Zähne gebissen und uns gegenseitig motviert. Marcel konnte so eine Verbesserung von 22 Minuten erreichen und wir kamen nach 3:48 h glücklich ins Ziel.
