Im Rahmen der Marathonvorbereitung nahmen am diesjährigen Steintorlauf in Goch am 19.06.2016  auch einige Teilnehmer des Marathonkurses teil und zeigten starke Leistungen. Besonders erfolgreich waren die Damen, die in ihren Altersklassen jeweils vordere Plätze erreichten. Sandra Göppert siegte in ihrer AK W40 mit einer Zeit von 52:43 Minuten, Sylvia Niski wurde nach 50:16 Minuten zweite in der W45 und Ulrike Fortmann-Dion Dritte in der W50 in 51:39 Minuten. Schnellster Läufer der Gruppe war Jörg Siedenbiedel in glatten 46:00 Minuten und wurde damit 8. der AK M50. Die weiteren Zeiten: Klaus Niski 52:44 (13.M45), Vytas Lemke 50:15 (07. M40), Werner Bolender 50:48 (11. M50) und Jens Piontek 56:33 (09. M40).
