Lauf in den Mai

Für die Läufer und Läuferinnen am Niederrhein beginnt der Monat Mai traditionell mit dem Flürener Halbmarathon, der dieses Jahr zum 40. Mal stattgefunden hat. Auch die LäuferInnen von Marathon Dinslaken gehören in guter alter Tradition an die Startlinie des Flürener Waldstadions.
Zur diesjährigen Laufveranstaltung am 1. Mai 2016  konnten 5 Marathonis  bei sonnigem Laufwetter die landschaftlich reizvolle Strecke entlang des Rheins, nach einer langen Schlechtwetterperiode, geradezu genießen und gute Zeiten erlaufen. Robert Smeets, der zum Nachwuchs des Vereins gehört, erreichte über eine Distanz von 400 m eine Zeit von 2:23 min und als 5. Junge die Ziellinie. Sein Vater, Georg Smeets, nahm die Halbmarathondistanz in Angriff und finishte in guten 1:55:15. Manfred Feldkamp erreichte das Ziel nach 1:47:40, Axel und Janin Beyer überquerten nach 1:42:14 zusammen die Ziellinie. Janin Beyer konnte mit ihrer Zeit einen Treppchenplatz in Bronze in der Altersklassenwertung ergattern.
