Thomas Elsing von Marathon Dinslaken gewinnt seine eigene Varusschlacht im Teutoburger Wald

Der 43. Hermannslauf bei Detmold hatte es in sich! 

31,1 Kilometer von Detmold nach Bielefeld galt es zu bezwingen.
Nach dem Start am Hermannsdenkmal ging es landschaftlich sehr reizvoll, aber mit besonders anspruchsvollem Strecken- und Höhenprofil über Wald- und Sandböden, Asphalt und Kopfsteinpflaster und steile Treppen bis hin zur Sparrenburg.

Bei ähnlichen Wetterbedingungen wie bei der legendären „Hermannsschlacht” vor über 2000 Jahren erforderte die Strecke ein hohes Maß an Konzentration, denn der starke Regen machte den Boden erneut zur Schlammwüste.

Mit eisernem Willen zog Thomas durch und kam nach 3:58:24 Stunden geschafft, aber glücklich ins Ziel.
